Where it all began
William Webber ‘666’, 5 ft 11 Southpaw was born in Chelmsford, Essex on 12th November 1998. William grew up in Leaden Roding, near Ongar, Essex.
William’s path into boxing began when he was just 11, after watching a Rocky film, William decided that he himself would like to try boxing and went to the local gym under the watchful eye of his father, Paul. This is where his story begins.
“When I first started, my punches felt clumsy but my father who is also now one of my coaches helped me with my technique. I became more confident, I lost weight, I got fighting fit and we just built from there.”
William now commits to training twice a day. During training camp this increases to three times a day “It’s very time consuming to train, but it’s exciting and I love putting in the ground-work”. William is coached by his father Paul Webber. Paul is in full control of William’s boxing specifics, as well as his strength & conditioning training and nutrition.
William turned professional in July 2017, making his debut against Sonny Whiting.
William is now 11-1 (1KO). In his 6th bout, Ivo Krastev was stopped early with the ‘666’ dominating the fight, being the early aggressor by landing countless solid jabs and body shots.
In September 2022 William won the Southern Area Super Middleweight Title, which he has now vacated and is setting his sights on the English Title next.
“For me, my mind-set changes backstage when I’m getting my wraps done. Walking into the ring is totally surreal, the energy is crazy and all eyes are on you. I don’t get nervous, I have a job to do, I have to box to my best ability, I have to achieve and I have to give my all.”
William is managed by Goodwin Boxing, Steve Goodwin has described William as the jewel in his stable crown.
